One benefit that continues to rise to the top is the added wealth homeowners gain simply by paying their mortgage while their home increases in value over time.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-39342\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <em>National Association of Realtors<\/em> (NAR) recently broke down the equity gained from price appreciation and principal payments in their <a href=\"http:\/\/economistsoutlook.blogs.realtor.org\/2019\/03\/11\/wealth-gains-from-homeownership-across-metro-areas-in-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><em>Economists Outlook Blog<\/em><\/a>.
