However, the spring shopping season now starts in January for many of the nation&#8217;s largest markets.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>With the reality of fewer homes on the market in the winter, and that supply naturally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2019\/11\/04\/the-1-reason-to-list-your-house-in-the-winter\/?a=375140-ca8522ad04357da9549c08492a932f70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">increases<\/a> as we head to the spring market, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2019\/10\/29\/thinking-of-selling-your-home-the-waiting-is-the-hardest-part\/?a=375140-ca8522ad04357da9549c08492a932f70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">waiting<\/a> for more competition to list in your neighborhood this year might put you behind the curve. Perhaps now is the time to jump into the market.<\/p>\n<p>George Ratiu, <em>Senior Economist<\/em> at <em>realtor.com<\/em> says,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cAs shoppers modify their strategies for navigating a housing market that has become more competitive due to rising prices and low inventory, the search for a home is beginning earlier and earlier.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There is a lot of speculation in the market about why the search for a home is shifting to an earlier start. The one thing we do know is if you\u2019re thinking about buying or selling a home this year, the earlier you get started, the better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reminder:<\/strong> When should you sell something? When there is less of that item for sale and the greatest number of buyers are in the market.
