In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/wsj-survey-u-s-recovery-from-pandemic-shock-to-begin-by-third-quarter-11591884001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> on the findings, they reported:<span id=\"more-42519\"><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cThe U.S. economy will be in recovery by the third quarter of this year, economists said in a survey that also concluded the labor market will fare better than previously expected following the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Clearly, the latest jobs report from the <em>U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics <\/em>confirmed the labor market is outperforming expectations, as it revealed that 2.5 million jobs were added. Directly before the release, experts forecasted that we would <em>lose over 8 million jobs<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>A second revelation indicating the economy is already about to turn around was also somewhat unexpected. More than 9 out of 10 economists surveyed believe the recovery has already begun this quarter or will begin in the third quarter. Here are the results of the survey question asking when the recovery will begin:<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/15162948\/20200617-MEM-ENG-1.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-42521\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/15162948\/20200617-MEM-ENG-1.jpg?resize=650%2C488&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Is the Economic Recovery Already Underway? | Simplifying The Market\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" \/><\/a>The survey also asked what type of recovery the economists expect.<\/p>\n<p>More than 8 out of 10 believe it will be a form of a \u2018V\u2019 recovery:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A true \u2018V\u2019 with a sharp drop and a sharp rebound<\/li>\n<li>A \u2018Nike Swoosh\u2019 with a sharp drop and a more gradual recovery, coined after the company\u2019s logo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some experts, possibly concerned about a second wave of COVID-19, call for a \u2018W\u2019 recovery \u2013 a double dip recession.<\/p>\n<p>Others call for a \u2018U\u2019 with a prolonged bottom.<\/p>\n<p>A very small percentage project the dreaded \u2018L\u2019 recovery, which is no recovery at all for the foreseeable future (think of the Great Recession).<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the breakdown:<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/15163017\/20200617-MEM-ENG-2.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-42522\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/15163017\/20200617-MEM-ENG-2.jpg?resize=650%2C488&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Is the Economic Recovery Already Underway? | Simplifying The Market\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bottom Line<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Though we still have a long and difficult journey ahead, it appears the worst for both the economy and the unemployment situation may be in our rearview mirror.<\/p>\n<p>Source: New feed<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Wall Street Journal just released their latest monthly Survey of Economists.
