For many, it may be carrying into next year, and possibly beyond.<span id=\"more-43358\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the pandemic continues, Americans are re-evaluating their homes, floorplans, locations, needs, and more. Some need more space, while others need less. Whether you\u2019re renting or own your home, if remote work is part of your future, you may be thinking about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2020\/10\/28\/buyer-interest-is-growing-among-younger-generations\/?a=375140-ca8522ad04357da9549c08492a932f70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">moving<\/a>, especially while today\u2019s mortgage rates are so low.<\/p>\n<p>A recent study from <em>Upwork<\/em> notes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cAnywhere from\u00a0<strong>14 to 23 million Americans\u00a0<\/strong>are planning to move as a result of remote work.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>To put this into perspective, last year,<strong> 6 million homes were sold in the U.S.<\/strong> This means roughly <strong>2 \u2013 4X as many people<\/strong> are considering moving now, and there\u2019s a direct connection to their ability to work from home.<\/p>\n<p>The same study also notes while 45.3% of people are planning to stay within a 2-hour drive from their current location, 41.5% of the people who are citing working from home as their primary reason for making a move are willing to look for a home <strong>more than 4 hours away<\/strong> from where they live now <em>(See graph below):<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/12171824\/20201116-MEM-Eng-1.jpeg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-43361\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/12171824\/20201116-MEM-Eng-1.jpeg?resize=650%2C487&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Why Working from Home May Spark Your Next Move | Simplifying The Market\" width=\"650\" height=\"487\" \/><\/a>In some cases, moving a little further away from your current location might mean you can get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2020\/09\/22\/the-cost-of-a-home-is-far-more-important-than-the-price\/?a=375140-ca8522ad04357da9549c08492a932f70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">more<\/a> home for your money.
