Last week, a <em>Gallup Poll<\/em> reaffirmed those findings.<span id=\"more-44388\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/349607\/americans-expect-home-prices-rise-divided-buying.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">article<\/a> on the current real estate market, <em>Gallup<\/em> reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cGallup usually finds that Americans regard real estate as the best long-term investment among several options &#8212; seeing it as superior to stocks, gold, savings accounts and bonds. This year, 41% choose real estate as the best investment, up from 35% a year ago, with stocks a distant second.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Here\u2019s the breakdown:<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/17105353\/20210518-MEM-Eng-1.png?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-44390\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/files.simplifyingthemarket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/17105353\/20210518-MEM-Eng-1.png?resize=650%2C488&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Americans See Real Estate as a Better Investment Than Stocks or Gold | Simplifying The Market\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" \/><\/a>The article goes on to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cThe 41% choosing real estate is the highest selecting any of the five investment options in the 11 years Gallup has asked this question.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4><strong>Is real estate really a secure investment right now?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Some question American confidence in real estate as a good long-term investment right now. They fear that the build-up in home values may be mirroring what happened right before the housing crash a little more than a decade ago. However, according to <em>Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, <\/em>and<em> Goldman Sachs<\/em>, the current real estate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2021\/05\/11\/experts-say-home-prices-will-continue-to-appreciate\/?a=375140-ca8522ad04357da9549c08492a932f70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">market<\/a> is strong and sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>As <em>Morgan Stanley<\/em> explains to their clients in a recent <em>Thoughts on the Market<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morganstanley.com\/ideas\/thoughts-on-the-market-us-housing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">podcast<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cUnlike 15 years ago, the euphoria in today&#8217;s home prices comes down to the simple logic of supply and demand. And we at Morgan Stanley conclude that this time the sector is on a sustainably, sturdy foundation . . . . This robust demand and highly challenged supply, along with tight mortgage lending standards, may continue to bode well for home prices.
